Australian honey bee colony loss (COLOSS) survey
The 2024 Australian Honey Bee Colony Loss (COLOSS) Survey is live!.
The COLOSS Survey contains questions about the continual challenges beekeepers face every year to maintain healthy, productive colonies. It will also cover how Varroa mite has impacted our beekeepers including financial implications, mite treatments and management practices.
All beekeepers are encouraged to complete the brief survey, regardless of the size of their apiary, by COB Monday 10 March 2025.
At the close of the survey, results will be compared against international data gathered from 30 other countries.
Results from the survey will be used to help understand the effects of hive losses, Varroa impacts, guiding future research priorities providing annual reporting on impacts on the honeybee industry.
